Akershus Royal Banquet Hall
For this article my lovely daughter in law assisted me with the writing!
It’s important, as with any of the character dining options that Disney offers to book as soon as the date opens up, which is 60 days from your magical date, I’ve learned that if you have a large group, it’s best to call reservations instead of booking online. A lot of times online reservations do not have reservations for large groups and it’s not possible for one person to split the booking. We had a group of 7 and the cast member put our reservation in for 3 and 4 10 minutes apart. Once you check in, the hostess will arrange for your party to be together, sometimes there may be a little wait but it’s worth it.
If you are considering doing a meal at the Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, which is located in Norway at EPCOT, to eat with the Princesses do not hesitate! We decided to do breakfast with the princesses and this experience was worth every penny. We’ve done other character dining and this one is by far the best. You can check in about 10 minutes ahead of time and then there’s a short wait to be seated. We arrived early, so as we waited, we did a meet and greet with Anna and Elsa right around the corner from the restaurant. The wait was not that long and it gave us something to do. The service was quick and it was an endless buffet that was brought right to your table. Since we had a 4, 6, and 9-year-old having everything brought right to our table was a huge plus. The food started with an assortment of pastries which were all delicious. An assortment of cheeses, meats, and jams was also included. The main course was fluffy, scrambled eggs, Norwegian heart shaped waffles (since the restaurant is in Norway), cheesy hash browns, sausage, and bacon all of which were amazing. Our server was very attentive and anytime we needed a refill on anything it magically appeared. As the food was being brought out, we were visited by 5 princesses who came to the table and spent time with us as long as we wanted to talk and take pictures. They do not have a list of princesses ahead of time, but for our visit we met Tiana, Snow White, Belle, Aurora, and Ariel. My daughter’s face said it all every time she met each princess as she was in awe and so happy she was finally meeting them. My boys even enjoyed the experience getting pictures with a few princesses and saying it was one of the best meals we had. We had planned to do the Frozen Ever After ride that day as well which is right outside of the restaurant. It was very convenient to get a lightening lane pass to do that right after our breakfast reservation. Overall, I highly recommend doing a meal Akershus Royal Banquet Hall. It will be an experience you will remember forever.
